For my ally is the force and a powerful it is. Life creates it, make it grow. Its energy surrounds us and blinds us. Luminous begin are we, not this crude matter.  You must feel the force around you, here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes even between the land and the ship.

Valentine Day

It Valentine Day and I wanted to write a post, but am sure you’ve seen many. I wrote one when I started the blog last year, so why write another one. You can read it here. So I will leave you with a quote that I found on instagram awhile back that I like and can relate to since am single. Am sure whether if you are single or in a relationship on this Valentine Day you can relate to it to.

Begin with no one is better then being with the wrong ones.
Sometimes those who fly solo have the strongest wings.

Writing 101: Hook’em with a quote

“I feel like I’m just a flower getting great roots but far from blooming. Far from blooming.” ~Becky Hammon

Becky Hammon a retired WNBA player who played for the San Antonio Silver Star and the first female NBA full-time Assistant coach. Also the first female head coach for the NBA Summer League and to win the summer league Championship. Becky Hammon said this during the NBA Summer league after her first game as a coach in the summer league and her first lost.

I pick this quote because one, I admire her for what she is doing and I believe that she is a very inspirational person. Of course she is a attractive person, but beside that, if I had a daughter, I would hope that Becky Hammon would be the role model that she look up to. She clearing the path for other female to be in a position that is male dominated.

Secondly, reading this quote, I hope and pray that at some point in the near future someone will give me opportunity to be a flower that has great roots, but needs time to bloom to become that awesome flower. At the moment it a been a struggle for me, kind of like a flower that does get enough water and sunlight to fully bloom. Kind of sound corny in a way, but it kind of how I feel.

I couldn’t fine the video when she said this, but did find a article that states her quote. You can read it here.

Writing 101: Let Social media inspire you

Our faith in the education is failing us, not on how well our children are learning, but that we are not solving problems that need to be solved. Here in the United States we have seen the raise and debates of some very sensitive issues: race, immigration. We watch and hear on the news from individuals, highly educated, giving their opinion and some of the possible solutions to those issues. Only to then hear from each side of these issues, disagreement, racism, insults. Days, weeks, month, years go by and again we watch and hear from educated individual working for the media, more facts, more opinion, and possible solution, but just the same results, disagreement.
Are we now living in world that education can no longer solve or come up some type of agreement on sensitive issues. Educated people are afraid to act on these issues with the fear of hurting not only their personal life, but their professional career. Immigration is a situation that need to be dealt with across the broad. Those that are here illegally, those who will cross the boarder, those using their unborn child to anchor themselves here. This is not a racial issue or a hate again Latinos as some people make it to be. Sad that people will take that route to achieve their goal. It about securing our boarders, just like you locking your house door when you leave, when you are alone, and when you go to sleep. You don’t need a education to know that locking or securing your house keep people you don’t want walking into your house. It give you some control and who can come in.
Has education blinded us in how we solve problems? Has it force us to look to deeply into these sensitive matters and make them into a bigger issue then just tackling them as they are.

Learning

Anyone who stops learning is old, wheather at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.   ~Henry ford

This is a great quote that I think everyone can apply to their life.  Today with the power of the internet you can keep on learning and make yourself a better person.

For me, I’ve applied and have put this quote into action. Using different internet sources, I’ve taught myself html and css.  For  those of you who may not know what this is, its a computer langauge or code used to make websites. Today, am using YouTube to look for tutorials on how to draw and how to play a keyboard.  You probably seen a few of my drawings from previous post.  As for playing a keyboard, a long ago my older brother got a musical keyboard. Of course back then the only way to learn how to play instrument was for someone to teach you. Well eventually he never learned and the keyboard sat there gather dust. Long story short I made sure no one ever got ride of it. Now with YouTube, i will make an attempt to learn how to play the keyboard.

Of course learning doesn’t necassary mean you have to actually learn something. It could be reading a book, working on a puzzle, or maybe exploring another culture.  As long as your mind is engage.
