Book: This is Really War

Something that you probably never learned about in history class or heard about are the women Nurses who service during World War II.  We hear about the experience of soldiers who fought against the German and Japanese, some even held in prison camps.  This is Really War by Emilie Le Beau Lucchesi tells the story of 12 navy nurses who are held captive in occupied Philippines.  These nurses are held captive in a hospital but soon later are transferred to a civilian prison camp.  Treating civilian with limited or no medical supplies, plus facing the hardship and by their Japanese captors.  The 12 navy nurses putting their patients first before their own mental and physical well being.  Many working their shift even when their own health had deteriorated.
