Reflecting last few days of 2020

The journey isn’t over yet, even as we soon to welcome in a new year, but hopefully 2021 isn’t as depressing and rough as 2020. As we approach the last few days of 2020, many of us will be reflecting on this journey that we’ve all been experiencing, the pandemic. Its been a tough journey for everyone and it will be one that will never be forgotten. Who would have thought that we would be able to say that we lived threw a pandemic and add it to our life resume experience.

Since the beginning of the year I’ve not only been blogging about this pandemic and my personal experience like many bloggers around the world, but I’ve also been keeping a journal. Writing and sketching. It something that has kept me mentally focus since this whole pandemic started and we entered a world of social distancing and wearing a mask. Looking threw my journal entries, am still unsure how to process and reflect what has happen these past 9 months. Am still unsure how this pandemic has effected me, personally. Has it change me? Have I grown? Is that kind of strange? Maybe two years from now, I know, but am sure re-reading my journal entries and my blog posting will be interesting. From the beginning of the pandemic when I was looking for a job, when the world was hoarding and looking for toilet paper, my birthday, finding a job was possible during a pandemic to the present day.

Where ever you may be reading this post, I hope you are well.  Please, seek help if you are struggle during these tough time.

Six months

September is here, Wow!!!  Just thinking that six months ago we were at the beginning of a pandemic.  A Pandemic with so many questions and even today we still don’t know the answer to some of those questions.  A pandemic that change the world and our lives.  It brought the us the words, “social distancing”, “staying 6ft apart”.

A lot has change these past six month and it still feel odd trying to comprehend what has happen.  Reminding yourself before leaving the house, do I have a mask.  The adjustments from working in the office to now working at home.  Along with now having kids doing online learning instead of actually physically going to school to learn.  Parents now having to take the role of being a teacher.

Awhile we are adjust to this new world, we can’t forget the events that are changing and having an impact in our society.  In the U.S. protest and rioting.  The launch of spaceX, sending two American astronauts to the space station. Of course we have a presidential election, so in a few months will see how this pandemic has or hasn’t influence on the outcome of the election.  I don’t know what events are going on in other countries around the world, but please feel free to share them by commenting below.

The Storm before the calm

It been three days since Donald Trump was elected president of the United States. I would have never thought that there would be a storm before the calm. People protesting the election results, people saying,”he not my president”, it just crazy.  I would have thought that once the election were done, things would return to norm.  People would be relieved that, hey it finally over, everyone would be thankful that elections, the debate, the brain washing from the media was over.  Time to start a new chapter, to give the man, the president elect, Donald Trump a chance.

I understand that people fear the future, they fear change. I am one that also scared of change and what lies ahead, but it time for a change.  The democratic process our founding father created allows for us to elect a leader. It gives the people of this country a voice, that voice echo in our vote.  The people voiced that they wanted change, they want someone to steer this ship, the United States of American in a new direction.  That what happen late Tuesday into earlier Wednesday morning.  The citizen of this country spoke. Now if you disrespect that process, what good is it to having a democratic society?  Day after day people were told, register to vote, go out and vote.  If you didn’t that your fault, your vote could have made a difference.

Who ever you voted for, Trump, Hillary or a Independent, it time to move. Turn off the TV, staying away from social media, staying away from where you will see and hear about the election.  Take time to decompress, take a walk, read a book, do something that will get you back into a normal routine.

Writing 101: To whom it may concern

Dear Attitude,attitude

One time, I was told by two people, both female, who were my supervisors that I work for awhile in college, that I gave them attitude. The negative kind of attitude.  They told me, you would show up when they would assign me something to do.  Hearing this was kind of shocking since am a down to earth type of person.  It was my first time someone telling something negative about my attitude.  My rule is I don’t give attitude, unless I am being mistreated and/or not being respected as a person.  Maybe they mistaken you for my personality.  The definition for personality and attitude, that you, are:

Personality refers to individual differences in characteristic patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving. The study of personality focuses on two broad areas: One is understanding individual differences in particular personality characteristics, such as sociability or irritability.

Attitude(noun) a settled way of thinking or feeling about someone or something, typically one that is reflected in a person’s behavior.   A position of the body proper to or implying an action or mental state.

Today, as I continue my quest to find a full-time job, to begin living my life and accomplishing my goals, do I have an issue with you “Attitude” or a conflicting problem between you and personality.  Are you two the reason why I can’t find a full-time job.  Tell me Mr. Attitude and Personality, do one or both you show up when am in an interview, that I give off a negative impression.  This negative impression radiates as a facial expression or a certain tone in my voice.

Do I need to change my attitude and personality to move on in my life? Great question!  I’ve always had a positive attitude about things I do and as for my personality, still trying to learn and understand that aspect of myself.  Its difficult to know what needs to be adjusted if at all any, when you are trying to find your own flaws. How do you know if it your attitude and/or personality since they seem to be intertwined.  I will admit that sometime I do fear certain things like trying something new or giving a negative impression about something new that I haven’t done before.  But isn’t that a normal thing?  To fear something you never done before, isn’t that just human nature or is it a attitude/personality issue.

Day Fourteen: To Whom It May Concern

Today’s Prompt: Pick up the nearest book and flip to page 29. What’s the first word that jumps off the page? Use this word as your springboard for inspiration. If you need a boost, Google the word and see what images appear, and then go from there.

Today’s twist: write the post in the form of a letter.

You have a number of options: you can write a letter to the word or an image, or an open letter to the world inspired by the word. You could pen a series of imaginary notes between you and a friend, or between two fictional characters, or between old you and young you.
