I don’t know if there a difference between anxiety and fear or are they both the same. The definition of anxiety if you google it is
“a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.”
The definition of fear if you google it is,
“an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.”
In the mist of the COVID-19 am sure all of us are feeling one or the other. Maybe both. Then how can you tell you the difference of what you are feeling, anxiety or fear. To tell you the truth I don’t know and I know am dealing with one of those at the moment. It nothing serious, but does bug me every now and then. It concerning that I unknowingly could be carry this virus and may pass it along to family members who are the most vulnerable to this virus. My parents, would be the most vulnerable cause they are older and I still live with them. Of course other family member are also vulnerable, but from what we know about this virus, younger people are more likely to recover from this virus. It one of those things you don’t want to live with that you/ I cause a family member to get sick and die from this virus. It one of the reason why I haven’t gone to the gym or have gone out in public. The only time I go out is if I need like doctor appointment or grocery shopping. It just a small sacrifice plus wearing a mask when am I work and when I need to be in public.
I hope everyone is doing well and hopefully can related to what I am saying. Where ever you are in world, take care:)
As we begin any new year, the one resolution people talk about is health. I need to work out, get in shape, eat more healthy etc. That my goal ever year and ever day of the year. Get healthy, stay healthy and make sure the weight never gets a gain on me. During the holidays as I saw family and cousin, I wonder if they think about their health. I don’t like to judge people life style nor would I like someone to judge my, but I do make the effort to take care of my health. I go to gym, I walk, stay way from eating fast food, don’t drink soda and just make healthy choices. Seeing my cousins I wonder if they take the weight they gain serious. Am not perfect either and have more free time then them. I know they are busy with work and kids, but make the effort to exercise, cut back on fast food and junk food. I feel in the near future that the there will be health issues that will be knocking on their door in the near future.
Happy New Year my fellow Bloggers. Hope everyone is doing great as we begin and welcome 2016. As with every new year it a opportunity to start fresh, set new goals, both personal and professional. It a time to review the direction your life is going and decide whether you need to change course. I feel that my life needs a course adjustment. In the next 5 years, I don’t want to be in the position that am in now: Living with my parents, not financially stable, still unemployed and don’t have a career set. So my goals for 2016 is to first find a job where I can begin working on a stable career that will lead to something better. From there I hope everything will fall into place, my financial situation and other personal goals. My next goal which is important is staying healthy, eating right, going to the gym and doing my morning walks. As long as my weight doesn’t go up that a accomplishment. If it goes down, that just awesome and currently my weight is at about 283lbs. So will see what happen this year. My other goals are as follow in no particular order:
Read at least 14 books or more. I read 7 in 2015, but I also start late in the year.
Continue with both my blogs, this one and my photo blog. Hope to attract more followers and have better content.
Also continue with writing in my journal which I started at the beginning of December 2015. At the same time practice drawing and maybe add other medium such as watercolor.
I would add traveling, but that not going to happen if I am unemployed, so no point on talking about that. I will only dream and dream about it and hope the time come where I can travel the world.
Today’s Prompt: Write about a loss: something (or someone) that was part of your life, and isn’t any more.
I wouldn’t know if this is consider a loss, but it was something that was part of my life since I was kid. Today it is part of many adults and kids life today, with the exception that there are more of a awareness of how bad it can be for your health and body. Soda! just like kids today we get addicted to drinking soda at a young age, but really never understand or aware of the harm it can have your health and body. With the exception that we are told it bad for you teeth and the so many visits to the dentist because of cavities cause by the sugar we consume and lack of not being educated on how to take care of your teeth.
Soda was a big part of my life growing up. As a kid, I was always drinking it because it was widely available at my house or a relative house. When I got into high school, it was available there, so I always had spare change to buy a Dr.Pepper during lunch time and after school. At that time there really wasn’t a movement to remove soft drink from school campuses. Am not sure how it is today, but I’ve heard that school wanting or have removed soft drinks machine from their campus. In college I was probably having maybe 6 cans of soda a day, maybe more. There I started noticing that my knee would aches from time to time. In my mind I thought it was just the running I was doing because I do enjoy running. It wasn’t until I moved back home that I decided to lose the soda habit. I just figure it was time to lose this bad habit.
I had tried several attempts to lose the soda habit even awhile in college, but it was hard. So I tried to reduce the amount of soda I was drinking and then one day, probably a week before Thanksgiving, I said to myself, “alright, no more soda, it time to stop.” It was hard since there were family members in the house who also drink soda, but slowing each day I learned to fight off the “want” to have a cup or can of soda.
*I am going to challenge myself in the making this a 3 post series.*
Like every new year, people rush to the gym to get a membership because they want to get into shape. One important thing people forget about working out at the gym are “gym etiquettes”. Both sexes are guilty of not following gym etiquettes and I’ve seen it happen at the gym I go to.
One of those gym etiquettes people don’t follow is picking and cleaning up after them self. If you are using any free weights please return them to where they belong. so other people who may be looking for them can use them. It will only takes less then a minute for you to put the equipment back where it belongs. If you are using any of the equipment and weather or not you are dripping with sweat, please wipe down the equipment. Nobody want to use equipment that has your sweat and germs on it.
This next one I think goes more towards the guys, but am sure a few females do these to. Don’t be equipment hoggers where you are using more the one equipment at a time. A gym only has so much equipment to go around, so be mindful 0f people who are waiting for you to be done with your workout set. Let the person workout a set awhile you do your other set.
All of us look in the mirror before we go out party with friends or go to work, so you should do the same before leaving the house to head to the gym. Ladies please take a few minutes and check your dress attire in the mirror from different angles and/or whatever activity you will be doing. Just make sure that nothing out of place that might cause an embarrassing moment or might draw some eye attention. I’ve seen a few girl run on the trend mill and not wearing a supportive bra, so you know what bouncing everywhere. Also, I understand we want to dress comfortable, but please be aware of showing to must skin. As a guy it feels awkward working out and there a girl in front of me showing cleavage or just exposing to a to much skin that it looks like if I staring.
There are many more gym etiquettes to follow and if you are new to a gym, you can google gym etiquettes or ask you gym what are some rules that they request their members to follow when using their facilities.
After a year and a half I made a appointment with the dentist. Like a lot people out here, there that fear about going to the dentist which I totally understand. My fear is not about going, but more about, “what are they going to find and tell me what I need to get fix and does it need to be fixed?” To put in another way, it like when your car’s brakes need fixing or something that require a lot of work and skill. So you take it to a car shop and they will do whatever mechanics do to fix the problem, but come back and tell you that there addition stuff that need to be fix. That will cost you more money, but unless you are mechanic and know your stuff, they are just adding those addition repairs to make more money. Yes, your brakes need to be fix, but everything is else with your car is fine. This is how I sometime feel about going to the dentist.
So I went in for my check-up. You know the routine, they do X-rays of your teeth, check your gums, and check your teeth for anything that needs attention. Well my gums were okay, but since I was pass-do for a deep cleaning, they suggested I set up a appointment with the dental hygienist. Beside that, I had no cavities, which I was happy, but the dentist did notice a crack on a old big filling I have. At the end of the check-up I would think that any dentist would sit with their patient to discusses what needs attention, why, and show their patient where on the x-ray where problem is at. At this dental office I notice that many of the dentist don’t do that. It usually the dental assistant that is with them in there. I understand they have many more patient to see, but in my opinion I feel a whole lot better if it was them to tell me what going on in my month since it him/her am paying to fix it. Anyone else feel the same way or similar experience? Just so you know this is not a private dental office. I will end up setting up other appointment so I can see the dentist and discuss what going on in my month and ask the pro and cons of the treatment she/he will be doing.
